Having spent 15 years both as a private firm lawyer and in-house attorney, Emily has a 360-degree perspective on building and strengthening businesses.
A New York and Colorado licensed attorney, Emily has counseled entities ranging from privately held startups to publicly traded companies on issues including forming and funding entities, regulatory compliance and corporate governance, drafting agreements and policies, employment and human relations, and privacy issues. Helping clients align their legal frameworks with long-term business goals, Emily specializes in strategic legal planning arising from her practical, solution-driven perspective.
Achieving a wealth of experience in the technology sector, specifically software as a service (SaaS) businesses, and the Cannabis, Hemp, and Wine & Spirits industries, Emily often serves as fractional general counsel to early and growth stage companies. Alongside providing strategic legal planning and day to day legal needs, Emily regularly negotiates multi-million dollar deals with multinational enterprise companies on behalf of these clients.
A Grosse Pointe, Michigan native, Emily earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from William Smith College and her Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. A frequent speaker, Emily has presented at International Cannabis Bar Association’s Cannabis Law Institute and Hispanic National Bar Association Corporate Counsel Conference and has also been quoted in Forbes.

Emily began her career as in-house counsel to two rapidly growing SaaS startups, later moving on to a global law firm’s Corporate, Securities, and Mergers & Acquisitions practice group.
This experience allows Emily to bring a unique perspective on the challenges and needs of early-stage and growing companies.
Emily has been quoted in publications such as Forbes, and her speaking engagements include the Hispanic National Bar Association Corporate Counsel Conference and the National Cannabis Bar Association Cannabis Law Institute.
